Mayfield is a small village, on the western side of the Dove River. Hanging Bridge is on the eastern side, on the road to the larger town of Ashbourne. The Dove River forms the border between the counties of Derbyshire and Staffordshire. The township of Mayfield is in the Parish of Mayfield in the County of Stafford.
